NRNA Singapore - Background / Mission

To unite all Non-Resident Nepali (NRNs) in Singapore under an umbrella to form a unified and institutional movement to achieve the mutual benefit between all NRNs and people of Nepal.

NRNA Singapore Vision

Prosperous, vibrant and dynamic Nepalese diaspora community in Singapore and to support NRNA initiative, program & activities with help and support from all stakeholders. 

NRNA Singapore Objectives

To unite all Nepalese diaspora living and working in Singapore. 
To celebrate Nepalese traditional cultures, feast & festivals.
To work with Nepalese Embassy, Consulate, and Nepalese Government agencies for the welfare and support of Nepalese when need. 
To provide the opportunity to all generation of Nepalese diaspora to network, learn and share Nepalese culture, language, tradition, and geography. 
To network with other communities and grass root organization in Singapore to share, to learn and to bond for greater understanding of the importance of diverse communities. 
To network and work with governmental and non-governmental organizations in Singapore, in Nepal and other parts of the world.
To provide the networking platform for organization lead by Nepalese for common goal and purpose.
To institutionalize, facilitate and encourage the potential investors to invest in Nepal
To explore any opportunity and implement the community welfare projects in Nepal
To liaise and constantly involve in NRNA Movement globally through ICC
To produce and encourage more vibrant leadership for NRN movement that could give it a meaningful direction in future.
To promote NRN brand throughout the Singapore Nepali Community.

What is NRN Movement?

It is an institutionalized and unified movement of all NRNs living in overseas and who have been away from Nepal for over 183 days. It would also cover the People of Nepali Origin (PNO) permanently resides in overseas.

What has happened so far?

First and second global conference involving Nepal Government and representation from NRNs throughout the world, FNCCI, media and other participants. There were successfully concluded with a formal agreement called KATHMANDU DECLARATION.
Two Regional conferences at global level concluded in Doha (Qatar) and Bonn (Germany)
NRN institution has established itself, as one of strong stakeholder to be considered in developing of Nepal hence the need to acknowledge their rights is prime agenda for all sectors.
National Coordination Committee is formed in more than 30 countries where Nepalis are residing and the trend only continues to grow.
NRNs have already commenced implementing their projects in areas of development, community welfare, education and general investment.
The institution has established itself as a representative voice of more than 1.4 million NRNs across the world and everyone is optimistic about its future direction.

Major Activities to date

The Year 1995 - 2006 
Nepalese community in Singapore was organizing the meet-up and gathering among fellow Nepalese living and working in Singapore time to time during these years to celebrate feast & festivals.   

The Year 2007
Singapore hosted NRNA regional conference with the participation of all major country representatives from the region and abroad. 

The Year 2008
Nepalese Society Singapore, as a representing body for NRNA - Singapore was formally registered with Registry of Societies Singapore. 

The Year 2008 - 2010
First Founder President Mr. Amar Pradhan Chitrakar served with another executive team. 

The year 2011- 2015
Second president Mr. Kishore Deve Pant served society with other executive members and contributed.

The Year 2016 - Current
The current president Mr. Bishow Praksh Gary is serving as Nepalese Society Singapore President with other executive teams to bring the NRNA-Singapore movement to another height.  

Future Direction

Connecting Nepali businesses and communities under one umbrella for the matter of common interest.
Promote Nepali culture and tourism to Nepal in Singapore. 
Create and connect investment opportunities in Nepal from interested NRNs and other potential investors from Singapore. 
Implement ICC initiatives to country chapter level within Singapore. 
Communicate NRN movement achievements and concurrent issues to all NRNs in Singapore. 
Promote skill database amongst all NRNs in Singapore as initiated by Kathmandu Declaration
Launch membership initiative amongst all NRNs.
Prepare Yearly Operational Calendar.  

Conclusion

We aim to contribute to Singapore, to Nepal, and to the globe by being a vibrant Nepalese diasporic community representing Non-Resident Nepalese Association Singapore also know as Nepalese Society Singapore, only registered Nepalese greassroot organisation in Singapore.
